Join the ResistDANCE
This is a call to gather and move! A time to say that power should never rest in the hands of a few, and that people matter more than fear, control or profit.
On Saturday, June 6th, we invite folks everywhere to attend or to host their own ResistDANCE PUBLIC events. There is no single format, no gatekeepers and right way to do it. This is an open invitation to move freely and visibly, and show your community that you will not remain silent.
All bodies, all ages, all abilities, and all styles are welcome. You might be a trained dancer or someone who only moves when no one’s watching. You might dance softly, wildly, awkwardly, or with total abandon.
Dance together or alone. Dance in the sunshine. Dance in the rain. Dance to music, drumming, chanting, or silence. Dance with signs of protest. Dance in costume. Dance with hula hoops. Dance with bubbles. Dance on stilts. Dance with colorful ribbons. Every form of movement is welcome!
Dance brings joy and this matters. Dance reconnects us to ourselves and to our communities. It reminds us that our bodies are our own, that movement is a form of expression, and that gathering is powerful.
Choosing to come together in movement is a meaningful act.
Join the ResistDANCE to reclaim joy, embody solidarity, and remember that community itself is a form of resistance.
